This multi-year agreement ensures that Mexican fans will have access to all 49ers games, including preseason, through W Radio’s extensive network. The partnership also includes collaborative content creation and activations throughout Mexico.

W Deportes, a prominent part of W Radio, has a strong presence in over 20 Mexican states and is renowned for its comprehensive sports coverage. With an average hourly listenership exceeding 522,000 and 2 million monthly streaming listeners, W Radio provides extensive sports programming 24/7. Their coverage includes major football leagues like Liga MX (men’s and women’s), La Liga, Bundesliga, and the English Premier League. W Radio also boasts over 20 years of experience broadcasting major sporting events like the NFL, FIFA World Cup, and the Olympics. This new partnership with the 49ers enhances W Radio’s existing NFL content, which already includes Monday Night Football and Thursday Night Football broadcasts.

Stephanie Rogers, EVP of Marketing for the 49ers, emphasized the team’s commitment to engaging with Mexican fans since gaining Global Marketing Rights in 2021. This partnership with W Radio aligns with that strategy, providing not just game broadcasts but also exclusive experiences and activations for the growing Mexican fanbase.

Juan Manuel Venegas, Sports Coordinator at W Radio, expressed excitement about partnering with such a historic NFL franchise. He highlighted the significance of bringing the appeal of American football to Mexican listeners and reinforcing W Radio’s dedication to providing top-tier sports content.

This partnership with W Radio is a key component of the 49ers’ Global Marketing Rights strategy, initiated in 2021 when the team secured rights in the U.K. and Mexico. This strategy underscores the 49ers’ dedication to delivering Spanish-language content to their Mexican fans. In addition to year-round content on the team’s digital and social platforms, the 49ers have partnered with FOX Sports Mexico to broadcast select games in the Mexican market.
