South Park Mexican Release Date: When Will SPM Be Released?

Carlos Coy, the Houston rapper known as South Park Mexican (SPM), is currently incarcerated for aggravated sexual assault of a minor. His projected release date, without parole, is April 8, 2047. Coy had a parole hearing on October 7, 2023, but a decision has not yet been reached by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

SPM Parole Hearing and Review Process

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice confirmed that Coy’s parole hearing took place in October 2023. He is currently in the Parole Review Process, which involves a thorough review of his file, including letters of support and protest. An Institutional Parole Officer interviews the offender and prepares a case summary for the Board voting panel. The Board typically votes on the case shortly before the parole eligibility date. The process can take several months, and there’s no guarantee of parole being granted. For offenders like Coy, who committed an offense after September 1, 1996, the review process includes consideration for Discretionary Mandatory Supervision (DMS).

South Park Mexican’s Conviction and Sentence

Coy was convicted in 2002 for the aggravated sexual assault of a 9-year-old girl who was staying at his home. This incident occurred in 2001. He was sentenced to a lengthy prison term, resulting in the projected 2047 release date. Currently housed in the W. F. Ramsey Unit, a Texas prison farm, Coy is 45 years old and temporarily ineligible for visitation for undisclosed reasons.

Past Allegations and Charges Against SPM

Prior to his conviction, Coy faced other accusations of sexual misconduct involving underage girls. He was arrested in 2001 and released on bond after being accused of taking two 14-year-old girls to a motel. One of the girls alleged sexual intercourse, but the case was dismissed. Coy also fathered a child with a 13-year-old girl and reportedly had sexual encounters with at least six underage girls.

SPM’s Music Career and Fanbase

Despite his conviction and imprisonment, South Park Mexican retains a dedicated fanbase. Before his incarceration, he released successful albums like Hillwood (1995) and The Purity Album (2000). Popular SPM songs include “Mexican Radio,” “Wiggy Wiggy,” “You Know My Name,” and “Broadway.” His fans continue to follow his case and await news regarding his potential release.

South Park Mexican’s Future

Whether Carlos Coy will be granted parole remains uncertain. The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles will determine his fate based on various factors, including his behavior in prison, the severity of his crime, and potential risk to the community. The South Park Mexican Release Date could be much sooner than 2047 if parole is granted. However, given the nature of his crime and his past history, his release is likely to remain a controversial topic.
