Having heard glowing reviews, my anticipation was high, and the hotel certainly lived up to its reputation. Its prime location in one of Mexico City’s most affluent and convenient areas, overlooking the verdant Chapultepec Park, is truly exceptional.

Entering the lobby, I was immediately struck by the soaring ceilings, imparting a sense of grandeur. The lobby’s ambiance at the InterContinental Presidente Mexico City evoked a sophisticated, almost financial district feel. Check-in was efficient, and I was soon on my way to the 39th floor, home to the Executive Club and my Executive Room.

One of the perks of staying on an Executive floor is the convenience of having the Club Lounge nearby. My Executive Room, designed in a standard en-suite layout, featured a bathroom seamlessly connected to the living area. The room, while moderately sized, boasted a contemporary business aesthetic, incorporating the classic InterContinental color palette of white, blue, and grey. It was well-appointed with a comfortable lounge chair, a functional working desk, a capsule coffee machine, a minibar, modern artwork, and a stereo system complete with a lightning port iPhone dock. The overall ambiance was comfortable, enhanced by the truly breathtaking panoramic views of Mexico City.

The Executive Club Lounge offered both breakfast and evening drink and snack service. While there was no afternoon tea, the lounge itself was expansive, providing ample comfortable seating and, mirroring my room, stunning views. The food selection was generally good, though breakfast variety was somewhat limited. The evening offerings were more diverse. Visually, the lounge was very appealing. Service was the area that could use some improvement. At times, the lounge seemed understaffed, and the existing staff could benefit from enhanced training to elevate the guest experience further.

Dining options at the Intercontinental Mexico City are plentiful. Chapulin, their signature Mexican restaurant, is particularly noteworthy. The dining room is stunning, enveloped in lush greenery, creating a beautiful and inviting atmosphere. I enjoyed breakfast at Chapulin, opting for the Temozon Chilaquiles and a Seasonal Fruit Bowl. The staff were incredibly accommodating, bringing extra chili to satisfy my preference for spice. Service here was notably efficient and attentive. This brief but delightful meal left me eager to explore more of Chapulin’s menu on a future visit.

Located on the 10th floor are the fitness center and spa. It’s worth noting that the spa is independently operated, meaning steam rooms and saunas are not available for hotel guests. However, the fitness center is impressively equipped with a wide array of cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights. The gym also offers pleasant views overlooking the surrounding greenery.

Two noteworthy features of this InterContinental property are its extensive wine cellar, housing 40,000 bottles of wine, and the impressive presidential suite situated on the top floor. Both left a lasting impression, and I aspire to experience the presidential suite firsthand on my next visit.
In conclusion, the InterContinental Presidente Mexico City offers a compelling package. The hotel itself is magnificent, boasting an enviable location, a solid range of amenities, comfortable accommodations, and breathtaking views. However, as previously mentioned, some aspects of staff training, particularly in housekeeping and the Executive Lounge, could be enhanced. While these were minor points, they are worth noting. Overall, my stay at the InterContinental Presidente Mexico City was thoroughly enjoyable, and I would gladly return.
